Romania Get Energy Efficiency Funding Boost
ROMANIA Insider report that Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein will donate €8 million to Romania to finance energy efficiency programs aiming to reduce greenhouse gases.
A statement from Romania’s Ministry of Economy revealed: “The donor states, Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein, concluded with Romania the Memorandum of Understanding which designates the Ministry of Economy as Program Operator for the “Energy Efficiency” program with MF SEE financing, approved on October 1, 2013.”
The objective of the program is to improve energy efficiency in industry, particularly the major polluting industries with high energy consumption. The funds will cover facility and equipment upgrades and retrofitting for an estimated 20 small and medium enterprises SMEs.
